Camera replacement to bring ‘Ibiza vibes’ to Oxford

‘Sexier. Darker. More outrageous.’

The new name for Camera’s replacement has been announced, ending days of speculation.

Oxford favourite Camera is to be replaced by a completely new club called Emporium.

General manager Stefan said: “Camera used to be the jewel in the crown of Oxford’s night life.

“In recent years however Camera has fallen out of favour with Oxford’s clubbers.

“With the rise of independently promoted nights such as Cut Grass, venues such as Cellar and The Bullingdon have profited from Oxford’s change in tastes.”

“Camera couldn’t offer what Cellar can so Emporium is going to be a proper nightclub.”

“Sexier. Darker. More Outrageous.”

Lord of Camera

“Where anything goes and it has the feel of a mega club from Ibiza in Oxford.”

Structural changes are being kept to a minimum, the only changes will be the “vibe” and the VIP area. In addition, the podium in the middle of the dancefloor is set to host DJs and acts instead of being used just as extra dancing space.

Stefan also said: “From the cheapest shots and jagerbombs it will be a much more inclusive club while still maintaining some of Camera’s old VIP feel.

“We have even bigger Radio 1 acts lined up every Thursday especially for Brookes students.”

Before it shut last weekend, Camera had been open since 2009 and has served over half a million people in that time.
