Everything you need to know about the temporary steps ahead of YOLO

YOLO is defo still on

Now that we have lost our beloved SU stairs, how does it affect the most important night of the week? We did the research for you so you don't end up lost or confused.

You can still access YOLO through both the front and the back entrances.

Senghennydd Road entrance is staying the same. Luckily, for all students in Cathays, the easy-access Senghennydd entry point is not affected.

But all of you who go via the front entrance, there's a couple of changes you need to be aware of.

The temporary stair entrance is before the previous entrance on Park Place. It's straight in front of you when you come off the train stairs, so make sure you keep your eyes open.

We drew you a map. You can thank us later x

Also, the lift to the SU via Park Place will not be available until the 2nd of December. Disabled access until then will be via Senghennydd Road.

Y Plas Nightclub have confirmed that students who require disabled access will also be allowed to exit YOLO through Senghennydd Road.

A Students' Union spokesperson said ahead of tonight:

“No significant changes will take place for entry to YOLO this evening – students will be able to enter through both entrances as directed by security.

Students should familiarise themselves with the new temporary entrance on Park Place, this is now located at the end of the lane behind Costa.

Due to delays in the building works of the new Cardiff University Centre for Student Life, there will be no lift access from Park Place until 2nd December. Any students with accessibility needs should access YOLO from Senghennydd Road.”

So, there you go, YOLO will not be heavily affected so don't fret.
