‘Nas and Demi are gonna win’: Connagh-with-a-G chats to The Cardiff Tab

He used to be a Met student?!

If you've been keeping up with all the Love Island drama, then you'll definitely know Welsh islander Connagh (with a G) and how he broke hearts in living rooms all across the nation.

Unfortunately, Connagh lost his place last week. But don't fret, The Cardiff Tab have pulled him for a chat and got the Love Island low down for you.

What university did you go to and what did you study?

I’ve been to two unis, the first was University of South Wales to study Foundation Criminology. Then I went to do one year in Cardiff Met to study Foundation Health Sciences.

"I've been single for over two years and was asked if I would like to apply. I thought 'why not?'"

Because I’ve been single for over two years and was asked if I would like to apply, I thought "why not?" I have nothing to lose. And any tips would be just be yourself, don’t try and put on a persona because people will see through it. Be confident and make sure you’re doing it for the right reasons.

A few people on Twitter think this season is more vanilla than previous seasons, do you agree?

I think it just takes time for people to really show their true personalities and that’s when the drama tends to unfold. My overall opinions on my fellow islanders are positive, I didn’t really clash or have issues with anyone.

"From watching it back myself, it's an accurate representation of what happens"

Since it’s 24 hours-worth of film you can only see so much of what happens in the day, but from watching it back myself, I’d say it’s an accurate representation of what happens. The turn-around for every episode is so quick the editors can only fit in the important stuff to progress the show, so yes, sometimes aspects of peoples personalities get lost a little bit. But that’s just the nature of the show.

Is there anything you found unexpected about being in the villa? And if you could go back in there, would you do anything differently?

The only thing I found unexpected was not having any idea what the time was! And if I had to do it again I wouldn’t be so quick to close off my options and get to know Siânnise a bit better.

Has the experience changed you at all? And will you be staying in Cardiff now you’re out of the villa?

It’s helped me come out of my comfort zone and has given me friends for life. As for Cardiff, it will always be my home and I do intend to stay here long term, but I'll likely be in London also.

Who do you predict will win?

I think either Nas and Demi or Callum and Shaughna will win!

There you have it straight from the horse's mouth, or should I say Wales' newfound sweetheart?
