‘Stay at home’ order from Welsh Government to be changed from Saturday

The ‘stay at home’ to be replaced with ‘stay local’ as the country begins to lift restrictions.

Welsh First Minister Mark Drakeford has announced restrictions will change from Saturday 13th March, asking people to ‘stay local’, a similar rule to last Summer when travel was permitted to a five-mile radius of home.

From Saturday, four people will be able to meet outdoors, including in gardens, to socialise as long as they come from no more than two households.

Indoor care home visits will commence for single designated visitors.

Drakeford will also confirm that outdoor sports facilities such as tennis courts, outdoor gyms, and basketball courts can reopen.

From Monday, more restrictions lift as barbers and hairdressers will reopen for appointments.

Also, all primary pupils and those in qualification years will return to schools. Schools have been given the option to bring years 10 and 12 back as well.

The First Minister said: “We will monitor each change we make, so we know what impact each change has had on Wales’ public health situation.”
