Cardiff University staff to receive a one-off £500 cost of living payment next month

The money will be given to those employed by the university on Tuesday 1st November

Cardiff University has released that university staff will be given an additional £500 to their November salary. This action is a response to the ongoing cost of living crisis.

The bonus will be paid to all staff on pay grades one to eight, and the clinical pay scales D1 and D2, (pro-rata for part-time staff), who are in employment at the university as of 1st November.

The vice-chancellor and the executive board will not be receiving the payment as they will not be eligible. Seniors and professors on the senior pay scale will also not be eligible.

Furthermore, clinical consultants paid on the D6 pay scale by the university will not receive the bonus. According to the Government website, the D6 pay scale is a minimum of £43,967 a year and a maximum of £56,339.

Casual workers, or those working for contractors via agencies, or as consultancies also won’t receive it.
