Sweet dreams are made of cheese: A new camembert bar is opening in Cardiff

You’ve got to see it to brie-lieve it

On 3rd November, Wales’ first ever camembert bar run by Caroline and Tudor Barber, will be opening at Neighbourhood Kitchen and Bar in Cardiff.

Not only will it be selling camembert but you can also choose from its wide variety of cheeses which couple with a choice of toppings and sides. Toppings include garlic, honey and rosemary, red onion and cranberry chutney, candied nuts, and confit duck, marmalade and Gran Marnier Cognac.

However, you’ve got to have something to dunk with the oozy camembert so an array of breads and other sides such as pigs in blankets will be on offer. And, if you like to have the independence to pick and choose as you go, its self-serving build-your-own system is idyllic for you.

The cheese provided will include ‘Le Rustique Normandy Camembert’, ‘Caws Cenarth Welsh Perl Wen’ a crossbreed of Brie and Caerffil (which is savoury and yet creamy local cheese to Caerphilly, Wales) and fear not for our plant-based lovers, there is a vegan option too labelled as a Nurishh plant-based Camembert.

Its running times are the same as usual for the Neighbourhood Kitchen starting from “5pm till late” from Tuesday till Sunday, as listed on their Instagram post.

They will be based at Neighbourhood Kitchen and Bar until 27th November and the restaurant recommends that you book in advance to avoid disappointment.
