King’s ranked just outside of the top 20 universities in the world

We were squeezed out of the top 20 by Edinburgh

King’s is the 21st best university in the world, according to the latest rankings published today by QS.

This year we have narrowly missed out on a top 20 spot after falling two places to 21st this year, in a year when most UK universities fell much further. We traded places with Edinburgh who climbed two places to 19th and Columbia University in the US closed out the top 20. However we were more consistent than the likes of Durham, who fell 13 places to 74th, and we are still the 6th best UK university on the global stage.

King’s scored particularly highly in the following categories (out of 100):

Academic Reputation – 91.8 per cent

Employer Reputation – 91.1 per cent

Faculty-Student Ratio – 88.2 per cent

International Faculty – 97.6 per cent

International Students – 99.3 per cent

But was let down by its comparatively low score of 71.2 per cent for Citations per Faculty.
