We tried feminist quotes as chat-up lines on Bumble to see if it is as empowering as it claims to be

Surely by now everyone has heard of Bumble: the new Tinder with less dick pics, which also gives more freedom to women to initiate conversations with the gallant young bachelors available.

Having woken up at 2pm and feeling fresher than a pigsty, I spent most of my day tossing and turning in bed. As I was doing this, I started thinking… to what extent does and should Bumble empower women? How does it even feel to be on Bumble? Do the eligible young men genuinely believe that this empowers women – and how would they react to famous feminist quotes as chat-up lines?

So I went online, and used Harper Bazaar's 35 Inspiring Quotes about Empowerment for Women to woo some beaus – and this is what happened.

On a sidenote, while I am very anti-dating apps, I did quite enjoy Bumble. So kudos to the people who thought of this idea, I was happily surprised.
