The best vegan food places around Guy’s Campus

Vegan or not, there are some great food places around Guy’s campus that after a hard day of studying (or not studying… each to their own) you can chow down on a delish vegan burger, some pancakes or Indian street food, all are listed below. You can thank me later.

Big V

The ever popular 'Big V' always has a massive queue of people desp to get their hands on one of their vegan mushroom and seitan burgers. If you're not a burger fan, don't worry, they also sell a variety of vegan hot dogs and 'v-bowls' (a mix of house salads topped with humus etc.) for the more health conscious of you.

Gujarati Rasoi

Gujarati Rasoi is a vegetarian Indian street food stall, however the majority of their dishes are vegan. The koftas are a firm favourite and the dhal is well… simply put – dhalicious.

The Free From Bakehouse

If, like me, you've got a bit of a sweet tooth, then head to 'The Free From Bakehouse'. Another stall in Borough market that sells their food every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. On their website they describe themselves selling an 'award winning range of gluten free, wheat free and dairy free products [that] are handmade daily in our dedicated gluten & wheat free premises.' They make and sell a vegan rocky road. Enough has been said.

Where the Pancakes Are

'Where the Pancakes Are' have a selection of vegan options, their pancakes are made using a batter of organic rice, buckwheat flour, soy milk and chickpea water. They also make some great cold pressed juices that are named after colours, and some great cocktails, so no need to head to the East End to pretend you're edgy – you can drink a 'green' or a lavender infused gin and tonic minutes away from campus.
