Ex-Lancs student is competing on Strictly Come Dancing 2020
Television presenter and journalist Ranvir Singh studied English and Philosophy at Lancaster Uni
It’s that time of the year when Strictly Come Dancingwaltzes back onto our screens, bringing glitz, glamour and confetti to Saturday nights. And when it looks as though we aren’t able to spend our Saturday nights how we used to, more of us might be tuning into Strictly from now on!
Former Lancaster University student, Ranvir Singh, is one of the competitors in this year’s contest. You might recognise her from Good Morning Britain and Loose Women – but before hitting the bright lights of television, Singh was a Lancs student!
She was member of Pendle College, and completed her undergraduate degree in English and Philosophy in 1998. Currently, she is posted as the Chancellor of the University of Central Lancashire, from where she received her postgraduate diploma in journalism.
Speaking about appearing on the show, Singh said: “The initial feeling of being confirmed for Strictly is one of complete terror – feels like embarking on a rollercoaster, where you really want to do it but you are equally scared. Hopefully after the first dance I will feel exhilarated rather than sick!”
Singh is due to be performing her first dance on Strictly this coming Saturday, 24th October – so if you want someone to cheer on through the competition, then maybe she should be your pick!
