Leicester student banned from all McDonald’s in the UK after groping staff
No free cheeseburgers for him
Sagen Bhawsar, a 21-year-old student from Leicester, has been banned from all McDonald’s restaurants in the UK after groping staff at a restaurant in Leicester.
Bhawsar, who was on a bar crawl at the time, reportedly shouted “Look at that fat girl” before he felt up the young woman in the early hours on 20th March earlier this year.
He now faces £1,600 in court costs, a 10 week jail sentence, 140 hours of unpaid work and and an order to attend a 35-day rehabilitation activity requirement. In addition to this, he has also been denied entry into any McDonalds in the country for the next 12 months.
Bhawsar, of Gainsborough Road, Clarendon Park, Leicester, denied sexual assault at the incident in the clock tower branch, but was convicted by a jury.
Leicester Crown Court
The Judge produced a damning verdict on Bhawsar questioning his behavior and attitudes towards women, labelling him as a “sex pest and a drunk” who has an “unpleasantly arrogant” attitude towards women.
The Judge went on to add that “this was sexually calculated humiliation of a complete stranger” who was “deeply distressed” following the incident.
The Jury were also informed of further comments that were made after the incident itself where Bhawsar told the woman’s friends that he “often fucks with girls all the time.”
Since the incident Bhawsar has acknowledged the role of alcohol on that night and has since abstained from drinking, he does however face the reality of being on the sex offenders register for the next seven years.
