Porn Again Christian

From no bush to the burning bush, Teresa Scott’s tale came to Newcastle.

When The Tab heard about the “Porn Again Christian, 50 Shades of Grace” talk by former porn star Teresa Scott, we knew we had to go, just for you.

Sadly, it wasn’t as odd as we all hoped. On the up side, we arrived to a fantastic spread of cakes and drinks, on the downside it didn’t really get that strange.

Hopes for discussion of porn, difficulties with fitting together a career based on sin plus faith in god or even doubts about her past soon faded. A chance to ask questions didn’t even give us much (apart from the information that the porn industry is run by satan.)

The talk began with a very awkward interview about Teresa’s experiences of meeting God, working in the porn industry and later, her views on same sex marriage.

Theresa worked in porn for a year before she and her husband had a religious experience. They had just finished uploading some of her newest pornographic pictures to the internet, put on some music and experienced a vision where they met Jesus. (Make of that what you will.)

Though she continued to work in pornography, she began to search for religion too. Though her story was interesting, the hypocrisy ruined it.

When asked for her view on gay marriage Teresa answered that it’s fine, just not in a church.

For someone whose search for God involved getting dicked for money while identifying as Christian this seems pretty rich.

It’s okay “Jesus isn’t pushy.”

After that, there wasn’t much to take away from it, apart from a sense of anger, after-all “The body is not meant for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body!”

It wasn’t that bad, at least there wasn’t a mass sexodus.

The talk was organised by Student Life and you can find their Facebook group here.
