All the best ways to celebrate the end of the year in Newcastle

Did you even do your degree in Newcastle if your first thought isn’t trebs?

I bet you’re reading this in the library instead of studying, because let’s face it: the only thing getting us through exams is the knowledge that we have weeks of partying ahead of us.

Get fancy and attend the Official Newcastle Summertime Ball 2017 (13th May)

For those who finish exams super early, or just like to play devil’s advocate to getting up and out by 8am for a seat in the Robbo, the Newcastle Summertime Ball is for you. Brought to you by Summer Storeys, Avant Garde, StageOne-Events and Wylam Brewery, this black tie event is the one you cannot miss. They’ve packed so much in to make sure it’s an unforgettable night or forgettable depending on your alcohol consumption. There will be headline DJ’s, live bands, drinking, dancing, a firework display and so much more. Plus, if you are willing to pay just £3, you can carry on the fun at the Summertime Ball afterparty! So whack on your glad rags guys and gals and get on down to the ball.

Drink all day and then end in WHQ for Summer Slamjam (9th June)

A night of Grime, Jungle, Bassline, Drum & Bass, Reggae, Dancehall, Bashment, Garage & more – basically this will satisfy the music taste of the Stormzy fan and the flatmate who knows the most obscure Bob Marley songs. Plus almost all exams are over so expect this to be a BIG night out.

Tickets: £10, click here.

Have a barbecue on the Dean

Sun, cider and overcooked sausages – what’s not to love? This is the perfect way to end exams and take advantage of how lucky we are as Newcastle students to live so close to the idyllic dean.

Be a Tourist

Don’t leave Newcastle without ticking the obligatory places off the bucket list. Tynemouth Beach, Durham and the Angel of the North are perfect day time activities for when you’re hanging from the night before. They also make a good Insta.

Sleep

You successfully made it through months in the library, weeks of exams and at least two all nighters in the library – you deserve to celebrate by sleeping.
