Swingers just made an embarrassing marketing faux pas

I feel like I nearly got Catfished

Swingers, one of Newcastle’s most popular club events run by StageOne Events, just made an embarrassing error in their latest marketing campaign. They’ve got caught out with Photoshop, a bit like when we used to airbrush our skin on selfies during high school so that our profile picture looked sick only for our older siblings to comment and expose out mediocre editing skills as the reason we were spot free.

The poster below, which Swingers are using as their cover photo shows a billboard adverting their latest major event. Unfortunately it doesn’t add up.

The caption beside the photo reads:

“ “Go Big or Go Home”

Look out for these Swingers STD billboards around Newcastle in the coming weeks ahead of our Digital takeover with a Jeremy Underground on the 7th June.

Tickets released at 7pm tonight.
Expecting this to be our fast selling event to date.”

Only thing is if you did look out for these billboards don’t expect to see anything. They’re FAKE! In fact not only do they not exist but the billboard they’ve photo shopped onto is in London, as discovered by Finn Wolff.

As if this wasn’t awkward enough they actually said they’d ‘blown the marketing budget’. That must be a small budget cause most photo editing software is free and pretty simple to use.

The Tab Newcastle asked for a comment from Swingers who replied:

“We enquired for a billboard ad but sadly after putting on such a big booking and the costs involved with hiring Digital our budget would only stretch to the preview the company send back with the quote!! Nightmare or what! Haha.

“Every now and again you get caught out and this would be one of those occasions! Hats off to Finn he got us!! Consider us well and truly under the sea on this one! And should you want one Finn there will be a free ticket waiting for you as a reward for your excellent espionage work! Roll on Wednesday 7th June! Jeremy Underground in the house. Expensive Billboards are not.”

Sorry Swingers but your lies have been uncovered. I don’t even know if I can trust you anymore.
