A new Hip Hop night is coming to Nottingham, set to rival Ink

It will be hosted at Trade, the former quarters of The Market Bar

Nottingham is braced to host a third Hip Hop/RnB night within the city centre, rivalling the David and Goliath of Nottingham's music scene: Ink and Przym.

VIBE, a brand new event featuring Hip Hop, RnB, Afrobeats, and a range of MOBO music, is set to launch at Trade, the former quarters of The Market Bar.

Hamish Smith, one of the co-founders, and Management student in 2nd year, has big hopes for the night. "It's an improvement on Pryzm's Curve room, Black Cherry Lounge at Rock City, and Ink", he says, "which just play mainstream music."

"You only ever hear the same top of the chart hits and miss out on so many amazing artists and songs. Many Hip Hop events in big cities have a unique touch and go more in-depth into the range of music."

"VIBE aims to fill this gap in Nottingham by creating a community of students who want an alternative, exciting night of Hip Hop with a wider range of artists and sub genres of Hip Hop."

The team of four students, Fredrika Cederlund, Fore Obatusin, James Greenwood, and Hamish, studying Management, Economics, and Industrial Economics between them, were dumbfounded at the poor choices of real Hip Hop events in the city.

The four decided to write a proposal to numerous venues around Nottingham to fill the gap of an RnB night for students, and now their dream has come to life.

VIBE is set to launch at Trade on Monday, October 1st
