It’s back, baby! Crisis to reopen its doors

With the university opening up in September, so too is one of Nottingham’s biggest student nights. Crisis ‘Sessions’, as it is now called, will be occurring every Monday and Wednesday night. Tables for 4 to 6 people can be booked in advance on their website. 

Carpe Noctum, the events company behind Crisis, proposes to host Crisis ‘Sessions’. This entails table service throughout the night; people can order to their table via the ‘Ontapp’ smartphone app.

In Rock City, all the different rooms will be fully open. There are different zones and a one way system throughout the building. Upon arrival, face coverings must be worn and details will be taken for the NHS track and trace system.

There is also a new ‘Anti-Dickhead’ policy. The whole table is now responsible for its members, and if people don’t act within the government guidelines, they will receive a warning. Upon a second request, all the members of the table will be kicked out. There will also be security in PPE present during the night to keep an eye on social distancing and safe customer behaviour.

The Q at Box, has also been replaced. Previously, The Q was designed for people who wished to pay at the door at Crisis. Students were able to go to Box to have a boogie whilst waiting for a spot in Crisis. Now, Crisis Sessions proposes to do the same. The car park, named The Yard Bar, is the newly designed covered waiting area where people can order drinks to tables. But once this is full, there will be no queueing in order to maintain social distancing.

Tickets will go on sale on their website. One person can book 1 or 2 tables in advance. You don’t have to completely fill a table, but you will still be required to pay for that table- so if only 3 people wanted a table of 4, you would still need to pay for 4 spaces.

These measures taken by Crisis are set to comply with the new Government guidelines announced earlier this week, where groups cannot exceed sizes of six, coming into force Monday.
