Forward or backward? Forward nightclub closes its doors

A local haunt has been banned from entertaining clubbers in the early hours.

Forward has been silenced after a licensing scandal.

The nightclub Forward has been banned from playing music by London’s High Court after being caught without an up to date license.

The club, just off of Carver street, had been caught playing music which violated its licence, in August last year.

Until they get a new license, the club has been forced to stop its regular club nights.

It’s also been fined £1,612 to pay within the next two weeks due to the breach of its license. (That’s roughly 900 jagerbombs worth).

The club is notorious for being one of the few clubs in Sheffield open until 6am.

However, it seems that this isn’t a huge shame for most students. (Well, let’s face it, it was never exactly the best night out in Sheffield)

Rony, second year biomed student, admits “students don’t really go there to be honest, so it won’t really affect me”.

As does second year Geography student, Charlie, stating “from what I remember of the place (which is little), it was usually an older local crowd in there tbh, wasn’t cheap to get in but drinks were alright.”

So maybe forward won’t be missed much anyway?
