Eh oh! Teletubbies creator top of new uni honorary degrees list

Very well deserved

Anne Wood, the mastermind behind classics such as “Teletubbies” and “In The Night Garden” has understandably topped this year’s honorary degree list released by the Uni.

Wood and various other esteemed recipients will be receiving their degrees in several different ceremonies this week.

The BAFTA winning children’s TV producer will become an honorary graduate of the Faculty of Social Sciences, which includes relevant disciplines such as Geography, Town and Regional Planning and the Department of Landscape.

“Teletubbies arguably shaped us all as people. I’ve been hoping Anne would make the cut for some time now- very well deserved.” said Pete Abbosh, second year Economist.

Also making the honours list is “mind mechanic” Professor Steve Peters, a psychiatrist and University of Sheffield Medical School Dean who is said to have used his clinical skills to “unlock the potential” of many sportsmen and women.

His revolutionary “Chimp Model” encourages patients to see their irritable and frustrated sides depicted in the form of a chimp, in order to understand their own mind better.

Professor Peters has worked with Ronnie “The Rocket” O’Sullivan, Sir Bradley Wiggins, Sir Chris Hoy and even the England football team before last year’s World Cup.

Other well known recipients of the degrees are novelist Professor Phillip Hensher, Chief Nurse Professor Chapman, the Right Honourable Lady Justice Julia Macur for her services to Law and Director at Rolls Royce Hamid Mhugal.

Autograph books at the ready.
