Greg James said Sheffield’s hills are ‘devastatingly hard’

Literally tell us about it hun

Greg James completed the fourth stage of his five day triathlon challenge  in the Steel City yesterday.

Joined by Grimmy and Example, the Radio 1 presenter cycled through Dronfield and Bradfield before embarking on a one mile swim at Ponds Forge and a 10 mile run over the seven hills, all on just four hours sleep.

Greg has already raised half a million pounds for BBC Sport Relief with that figure still climbing, and the last leg of the challenge will take place in Norwich today.

The Sheffield stint got off to an initially bad start when Greg posted a picture on Instagram of him having fallen off his bike in the morning.

He told The Star: “The hills were devastatingly hard because they’re really hilly and difficult, but they are also very deceptive because you go down the wonderful declines and then suddenly you go ‘oh hang on a second, I’ve got to go up in a minute’ and its just about worth it.

“I was going up one of the hills in the city and my brain was going ‘come on then, get those legs up’ and my calves went ‘no mate, not going to happen’ and they stopped working.”
