BNOC of the year: Group three
Cast your votes now
It’s the third and final group of the Big Name On Campus 2016 competition. This group may be last but they’re definitely not least, their BNOC status is enough to rival any.
The winner of this round will be going through to the BNOC of the year finals, up against the winners of the previous groups.
Who will be your victor?
Alex Carr
You will definitely remember this BNOC from his bold and daring move to find love back in November. This modern day Romeo emailed every single girl named Jess on campus to find his lost flame.
After failing to get his Jess’s number on a night out, Alex sent out an email to the 295 girls called Jess on the University’s email list. This romantic gesture touched the hearts of all on campus, and got #FindJess trending on Twitter. If this bold statement doesn’t scream BNOC then we don’t know what does.
David Appiah
Doing it for the freshers we have David Appiah, a celebrity around Endcliffe. There is not a single night where you won’t find David crawling through the streets of Sheffield. The man knows everyone and anyone, from club promoters and bar managers to the random drunk guy in the Pop Tarts smoking area. A five minute walk through Endcliffe Village takes David around an hour by the time he stops and talks to every single person that walks past.
If you don’t know David Appiah, you don’t know yourself.
Jack Rowson
Merry Rogerson
Another iconic Endcliffe resident is Merry, who is infamous for being absolutely nuts. The tales of Merry are known by all. In first year alone, Merry ended up in hospital three times for being too drunk or ‘excited’, and two of these times happened within two days of each other. After the final hospital visit to date she “escaped” and ran all the way home from the Northern General hospital at 5 in the morning.
While being water boarded with cider by her friend she fell backwards, plummeted into the curb and smacked her head, passed out, threw up, then 10 seconds later bounced up and sprinted down the road screaming “CORP”.
She has also been forcibly removed from lecture theatre one in the diamond for raving to music playing over the sound system, and has swam endcliffe pond sober. What a legend.
And these are just a few of the tales in her nomination. This BNOC is called Crazy Merry for a reason. We wonder what she’d do to celebrate if she was crowned BNOC of the year.
