Bake Off is coming to Sheffield SU!

Eat cake in the name of charity

Sheffield RAG, Friends of MSF and Interval Cafe are hosting their very own Bake Off in order to raise money for “Doctors Without Borders”. The event will be taking place on the 26th October from 6pm until 10pm and will be a cake fuelled festival. They’ll even be showing the last ever Bake-Off-as-we-know-it on the BBC before it moves to Channel 4 (Sad face).

Doctors Without Borders, or Medicins Sans Frontiers, work in 60 countries around the world and help people in times of disaster and medical emergency. They believe that all people have a right to healthcare regardless of political borders, and their doctors put themselves in dangerous situations everyday in order to help those in need.

Bakers of Sheffield, Rejoice!

There will be 4 categories into which you can enter your bakes. There’s a showstopper round where you’ll need to submit 6 identical cupcakes decorated in a snazzy fashion, a signature tray bake, 12 identical biscuits of any flavour, and a free-from cake. You’re only allowed to enter into one category, but prizes are on offer for the best bakes.

Sheffield’s very own version of Bake Off

They’re also offering a raffle on the night.

So if you’re a fan of cake, or think you could be crowned Sheffield’s best baker, email [email protected] by 12pm of the 26th October with the following details:
1) Name
2) Name of bake
3) Category entered
4) Any of the 14 main allergens included in your cakehttp://www.food.gov.uk/sites/default/files/top-allergy-types.pdf
5) A photo of the baking process so we know that you’ve baked it!

On your marks, get set, bake!
