The best of Sheffield’s alternative Christmas markets
Sheff has a lot to offer this festive season
It's that time of year again. The Sheffield Christmas Market is back at Fargate. Whilst it offers some great food and gifts, you might be after something more exclusive. Luckily, Sheffield also offers a number of one-off independent events. From art to street food, Sheff has it all. Here is our guide to the best alternative markets this December:
1st-2nd December: Peddler
Back for a festive edition of their popular monthly night market, Peddler promises mulled wine and cider and handmade gifts that will make perfect Christmas presents. Expect the warehouse to be suitably decked out in festive decorations, including a Christmas tree. Check out our guide to Peddler to make the most of your time there.
2nd December: Independent Christmas Art Market
Head to the independent Christmas art market at DINA venue if you are looking for some truly unique gifts. Local artists will be selling everything from ceramics to chutneys. It's a great way to support Sheffield-based creatives at the same time as getting some much needed Christmas shopping done.
2nd-3rd December: Etsy Made Local
Similarly, the Etsy Made Local market promises Christmas presents made my local artists. There will also be a licensed bar and afternoon tea on offer. This free event runs on both Saturday and Sunday so there's no excuse for missing it.
3rd December: Hagglers Christmas Market
On top of offering food and drinks, you can make your own Christmas decorations at Hagglers Christmas Market. Not feeling particularly crafty? There will also be local artists selling their own festive creations. Local bands and DJs will be providing the music.
3rd December: Sheffield Christmas Vintage Fair
Lou Lou's Vintage are back at City Hall this December. This is a perfect opportunity for purchasing some vintage pieces for this party season. Entry is £2.
4th December: Streetfood Warehouse
Next Monday, Trafalgar Warehouse (the warehouse next to Corp), will be hosting its monthly street food market with a festive twist. Expect mulled beverages, decorations, as well as a range of street food.
17th November-5th December: Chatsworth Christmas Market
Chatsworth House's Christmas Market promises over 100 stalls and a festive atmosphere. The impressive house and gardens are transformed into a winter wonderland, with outdoor bars serving mulled wine, German beer and hot food.
