Sheffield has ranked as one of the best cities in the UK for pumpkin picking

Are you really celebrating Halloween if you’re not picking your own pumpkin?

| UPDATED

Sheffield has been ranked as one of the best cities to go pumpkin picking this Halloween.

The survey conducted by This is Fresh takes multiple factors into consideration such as cost, ratings and location. Liverpool was found to have the cheapest patches with an average cost of just £1.29 per pumpkin with others costing as much as £27. I think we can all agree that nearly £30 for a pumpkin is extortionate to say the least.

Sheffield ranked third in the country, falling just behind Liverpool and Leicester with Birmingham, London and Edinburgh all making the top ten.

Luckily you’re very unlikely to find high prices around Sheffield. Some patches offer set rates where the maximum to pay is £10 based on the largest pumpkin you can find. While the pumpkin patches in Sheffield are a bit of a trek out of town, they are more than worth it for what’s on offer.

Here are just some of the highest rated pumpkin patches nearby:

Village Pumpkins | Rated 4.7/5 | Cost: 50p – £10

Wurzels Pumpkin Patch | Rated 5/5 | Cost: £5 – £15
