Bournemouth University rises in ranking from last year in The Times’ World University Rankings

It’s a big step up from last year

Bournemouth University has risen in rankings from last year in the 2023 Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings.

103 UK institutions are eligible for the rankings, but the Times Higher Education tables include over 1,800 universities globally. Only the top 200 universities get individual scores- unis after this are placed in groups of 50.

Bournemouth has officially entered the 250-300 grouping worldwide, an improvement from the 351-400 grouping last year. Bournemouth has also improved domestically since last year, placing in the 251-300 grouping in the UK uni rankings.

Universities are assessed on 13 performance indicators, including teaching, research, citations, international outlook and industry income. Overall Bouremouth scored 48.9-51.1 per cent; 32.6 per cent teaching, 20.7 per cent research,88.4 per cent citations, 37.5 per cent industry income, and 84 per cent international outlook!

The rankings also find that Bournemouth has 13,823 full-time-equivalent university students, 21 per cent of which are international students, with a 53:47 ratio of female to male students.
