Clare May Ball “HMCMB Introducing Stage” Line Up
Clare May Ball are shaking up their musical ents and unveil the line up for the new “HMCMB Introducing Stage”.
Earlier this year Clare May Ball announced their partnership with “Hey Man Check My Band”, who would be programming their Master’s Garden Stage, now suitably dubbed the “HMCMB Introducing Stage”. This looked like a great move from CMB; attempting to break away from the May Ball mould, and today we can exclusively unveil the HMCMB Introducing Stage line up:
The HMCMB Introducing Stage hopes to bring some exciting new artists to the Cambridge scene, and is the first time in recent years that a Cambridge college has hosted such a stage at a May Ball. Ben Miller (CMB Ents) is deservedly happy with the results:
“The lineup for the stage is better than I could ever have imagined. When I started doing ents, I really wanted to try and turn the ball into a kind of mini 9 hour music festival. Working with HMCMB has been great because they have been able to identify some of the top up and coming talent in the UK right now.”
HMCMB is the child of Johnian Tom Jenkinson and Clarite Will Chambers who had this to say about the site:
“The HMCMB mantra is to get great music heard by as many ears as possible. All we do has come from a passion for music and a desire to support the acts we have enjoyed so much. From radio shows and filmed acoustic sessions to crudely written prose we’ve tried our hand with varying success at all sorts of things throughout our time with HMCMB.”
The HMCMB Introducing Stage certainly looks packed, with 7 acts scheduled to perform on the night. To help give you an idea of what to expect, HMCMB have created a playlist to sink into, featuring tracks by all of the acts playing, as well as providing the information and accolades of their 3 biggest acts and reasons why those attending CMB 2014 should be getting excited:
Kimberly Anne: Recently signed to Polydor, her new single “Hard As Hello” has received over 100,000 views on youtube in a week. The single made Bastille turn a head and they have since remixed “Hard As Hello”, and Kimberly Anne has recently toured with Saint Raymond and Bipolar Sunshine.
Southern: Belfast-born brother and sister 2 piece (with additional members for live shows) now residing in Liverpool and writing heavily blues tinged indie pop. Signed to Marathon Records, the home of Jagwar Ma and Jamie Isaac, the duo’s last EP brought huge excitement and led to several shows recently supporting The Strypes.
D/C: Signed to the Arctic Monkeys’ management team, Wildlife Management, D/C has recently released his debut EP and has been working with Gorgon City. D/C has found fans in Chase & Status and is a big one for the future with comparisons to MNEK/Elli Ingram
