TONIGHT: The first Turf of term!
You deserve a night out after your lectures today.
If you caught last week’s preview of this term’s Turf series, you’ll know that today is where it all kicks off. Kuda comes alive tonight with the sound of Fever.
Between “Galactic Funk” specialist Space Dimension Controller and the irrepressible Horse Meat Disco, this is well worth getting dolled up and hitting the town for.
We’re giving you a run-down of tonight’s two headline acts so you can look cool in the smoking area with all your knowledge, because that’s what going out is all about, right? The Tab is nice like that.
Space Dimension Controller
How do you describe an act that doesn’t want to be described? Everywhere you look, every bio, ‘about me’ section, even interviews – Space DC (as the cool kids know him) is an enigma. A man that describes his music only as ‘Galactic Funk’ and stays away from being categorised, Space DC is an act that really you have to go and see live to get the full picture of who he is and what he does. That sounds incredibly wanky and as such is a perfect line for the aforementioned smoking-area cool test. You can thank me later.
Horse Meat Disco
This London-based DJ collective blend crate-digging disco classics with contemporary anthems and a full spectrum of everything in-between. If you’ve ever listened to their weekly show on Rinse FM, you’ll know that the Horse Meat team always come correct with a tune selection that gets even the most reluctant dancer up and moving. Two days after touching down in Cambridge they play at the ultra-cool Output in New York, so feel very blessed.
There is also talk of a very special secret guest. Even us here at The Tab have no idea who it is, and if anyone would know it’s us.
I guess you’ll just have to get yourselves down there and find out – there might just be some tickets left here. If not, get down there early so you don’t miss out.
