Which Cambridge college would these iconic Love Islanders attend?

In honour of Tasha Ghouri and Ekin-Su visiting Cambridge and talking at the Union, I have decided to embrace Love Island as my journalistic inspiration. When I realised I wouldn’t be able to attend the event, my feelings were indescribable. However, if they were describable, the words “gutted” and “devastated” would definitely feature. As a borderline reality TV addict, I know Love Island. A religious watcher since season five, I consider myself something of a superfan. In fact, it’s almost a crime that I haven’t been asked to give my opinion on Aftersun yet. So, instead of Aftersun, I will simply post my absolutely 100 per cent correct opinion here.

Homerton

This college didn’t get the rep as the friendliest for no reason. Fun, friendly and outgoing – it’s no surprise that this is where Farmer Will (series nine) would apply. Absolutely a Homertonian at heart.

Trinity

Can’t take a joke and somewhat problematic? Sounds to me like Luca (series eight) might be a good fit.

Clare

The “it” girl herself, Indiyah (series eight) would definitely go to Clare (and also serve some serious outfit inspo at Sidge). Cool, unique, and fun, Indiyah would feel at home in the Cellars. Plus Clare has a good music scene, and we all saw Indiyah on the recorder.

Downing

Walking distance from a ton of coffee shops and even serves Costa Coffee? Curtis (series five) would thrive here – he could get a job in the Costa on-site and be the person to make everyone a cup of coffee in the morning.

St John’s

Iconic, pretty and top shaggers – St John’s would welcome Adam Collard (series four and eight) with open arms and multiple free condoms in his Freshers’ welcome pack.

Peterhouse

Old at heart and coming bottom of the Varsity’s “Tompkins Table”, Dr. Alex (series four) and Peterhouse are a perfect pairing.

Lucy Cav

Message! Ovie (series five) would be in his element at Lucy Cav. Chilled, easy-going, and down to earth.

Christ’s

High-achieving, driven and gorgeous. Molly-Mae (series five) would happily spend all of her 24 hours at Christ’s.

King’s

The gorgeous building is one of Cambridge’s most iconic places, so who better than one of the most iconic islanders ever? It has to be Maura Higgins (series five).

Newnham

Definitely a girls-girl, Tasha (series eight) would thrive at Newnham.

Sidney Sussex

Next to all of the clubs in Cambridge, this college deserves Islanders who are the life of the party. Chris and Kem (series three). And, during week five they can rap to lift the mood.

Robinson

She’s not here to make seasonal girlfriends, she’s here to excel. It’s Ekin-Su (series eight), who definitely wouldn’t mind the gender split at Robinson.

Girton

Laid-back, measured and just an all-around nice guy, Teddy Soares (series seven) would be a great fit for Girton.

Final thoughts

As far as I know, there is yet to be a Love Islander from Cambridge University. I think this is a tragedy – Cambridge students could be the perfect contestants! They are used to brutal feedback and most are desperate for love – and eight weeks of sunbathing.

So, if you are turning heads on Crushbridge, maybe you should consider swapping supos for being pulled for chats and swap your skinny scarf and college puffer for a bikini!
