Instabear: “We. Print. Instagram. Photos.”

Do you have an impressive selection of Instagram snaps? Have you been hiding a burning desire to get your mad photo editing skills out in the open (namely, on your bedroom wall?) Never fear, the Tab has a solution for you: Instabear.

The brainchild of Exeter University students Solomon Akhtar and Tom Frew, Instabear offers prints of your favourite Instagram snaps in a variety of sizes.

When I ordered my prints, the process was quick and easy – within ten minutes the order was confimed and my photographic skills are now on show for all to see.

With summer events coming up, the guys are planning to offer sending 1 print for £1 – a perfect budget – friendly solution, especially if the last memory you’ll have from one of the summer events is ordering in the fifth round of shots.

As the prints can be sent to anyone – you don’t need to enter your billing address when you enter your payment details – the prints make a unique personal gift for your mates. Plus, of course, if your card is registered at Mummy and Daddy’s place, you avoid the possiblity of the parents opening up a snap of you attempting to recreate the Gangnam Style video in Timepiece.

Why “Instabear?” The “bear” seems a bit random…

We spent ages deciding on a name and wanted to link it in some way to Instagram. The bear bit came from a massive stuffed one Tom had in the house, Instabear pretty much came from that!

Once the bear logo was designed we added the ink droplet as the nose, trying to keep it slightly print – related!

Bear-y nice….

What makes Instabear better than just nicking a mate’s printer for your favourite snaps?

It’s really hard to get your images off Instagram, so we do that for you.

Our prints are on a heavy paper weight matte finish paper, using industrial photo printers so the quality is the best out there, you couldn’t get the same using a normal printer.

We also format the images for you, so they come out as Polaroids!
