So Long, St. Lukes

Anonymous student discovers plans to spruce up our sports campus

Documents detailing the re-vamp of our beloved sports campus were left behind by officials and discovered this week by a student and a seminar group.

Secret St Lukes spruce-up spotted…

While the anonymous student discovered plans that had been discussed by professionals at St. Luke’s Medical School, the seminar group uncovered documents which told of a meeting between Exeter Medical School Management Team and the General Medical Council.

Both Streatham and St. Luke’s are set to undergo changes in their infrastructure, but those of St. Luke’s are seemingly undecided and could be far more extensive, with half the campus potentially being demolished, including the Sports Centre and Medical School.

All is not lost, however – it seems these buildings are merely being upgraded.

Jon Bagnall, VP for Campuses and Participation, said: “The Students’ Guild has raised the issue of investment in the St Luke’s campus over a number of years, and this year negotiated £250,000 to develop the gym and social facilities.

“As I haven’t seen any plans I can’t comment on them specifically, however it is good news that the University is planning to invest in the long-term future of the St Luke’s campus, which has previously been in question.”
