RAG elections open today – who will you vote for?
Raise and give
This year the RAG election is an all student vote, so it’s important that you have your say. RAG is a fantastic society that works tirelessly to raise money for numerous charities for no reward.
Take some time out of your day to spare this vote some thought in repayment for all the efforts these lovely people go to. Let’s meet the candidates.
Jessica Pollard and Pete Gillabrand
This pair recently co-managed Rock Solid, a very successful event that…. And have also participated in fundraising events such as Sleep Easy, Jailbreak and the Budapest Marathon.
They hope to:
A: Adapt their student group to the next level through building system we have, both internally and externally with businesses, charities and other RAGs.
B: Better communication with our subcommittees including the AU and other individuals hoping to fundraise.
C: Challenges. They hope to build on the amazing fundraising success through our ‘traditional’ RAG approach to events.
D: Display our achievements more and reward people for their hard work and effort.
They believe that they should win your vote because they are enthusiastic fundraisers that have great ambition to leave Exeter’s RAG society in a better place than they found it. They hope that forging a stronger relationship with the AU will hugely benefit both institutions.

Kane is also an Event manager and has organised the Harry Potter Banquet, Hitchhike to Amsterdam LOST and has also designed the newly used tracking system for hitch events.
They hope to:
- A focus on RAG events with more stalls/marketing for them. A splitting up on RAG general committee into challenge and recruitment teams, and more prizes for the most efficient groups!
- Campus-wide distribution of information to RAG members and more meetings with AU clubs and fundraising societies.
- More all member events and better information emails detailing not only what is coming up in the RAG calendar, but full descriptions of said events.
- Use of google drive and date storage training so that everyone knows how to access all the information.
- Building of bigger and better relationships with external organisations such as DSP at Arena, Exeter College etc. Also, more charity visits and meetings so we can see our hard work paying off.
- We want to put forward a bid to host the 2018 National RAG Conference to bring a lot of attention to the Exeter RAG team giving us the opportunity to showcase what we’ve done etc.
- RAG training sessions to help people in their: events, marketing, sponsorship, design and fundraising skills.
