Updates: These are the unis to reject the proposed deal to end strikes
The deal was proposed on Monday and was immediately rejected by several unis across the country
Individual universities' UCUs are voting overwhelmingly to reject a deal struck with Universities UK that would have brought an end to the ongoing lecturer strikes.
Unless you've had no access to the outside world for the last month, you will have noticed that there have been widespread strikes going on across the country. The strikes also saw several student occupations across the country in solidarity with the striking staff.
Since the proposal was released on Monday afternoon, 48 university branches of the UCU have rejected the deal, with this number set to rise as more committee meetings are held to discuss the proposal. So far none have voted to accept the deal.
UPDATE: The Higher Education Commission has also rejected the deal due to the overwhelming disapproval of the deal from university branches of the UCU.
