Baa Bar sheepish over entry fee

Students across campus were left outraged during Freshers’ Week when Baa Bar charged a £3 entry fee on Monday night.

It’s a buzzing destination, renowned for its cheap drinks and free entry policy.

So imagine the anger when Baa Bar hit revellers with a £3 entrance fee on Monday night.

Marketing and Brand Manager, Ian Hoskins, insisted the ridiculous charge was “a one off”  imposed on Baa Bar by Liverpool Student Union.

Baa Bar was packed despite the entry fee

Hoskins admitted the entry policy “needed to be managed better” but maintained they were not exploiting Freshers.

LSU insisted on an entry fee for all Welcome Week sponsors after complaints were made last year when free entry was given to non-Freshers, while students who purchased an official Welcome Week wristband had already paid for their entry.

Cheap pints…shooters are £1 at Baa Bar

However, the fee did not put people off from entering.  The Fleet Street bar was packed with students taking advantage of its infamous £1 shooters.

Baa Bar will return to its usual no entry fee policy now that Welcome Week is over.
