Sea odyssey obsessed: giants to return to liverpool

The Sea Odyssey giants will be returning to Liverpool as part of this year’s WW1 commemorations.

They were last here in 2012 to mark the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic, and now they’re set to return as part of the UK’s flagship event commemorating the First World War.

The Sea Odyssey will be returning in July

The giants, which first captured the hearts of hundreds of thousands of people across the country two years ago, will return in a five day spectacular called Memories of August 1914 from July 23-27 2014.

The French street theatre production, Royal de Luxe, will be bringing the much loved 50ft Diver, 30ft Little Girl and the adorable dog back to Liverpool as part of the occasion.

There will be a series of events across the spectacular to mark the centenary of the Great War.

The event has been jointly commissioned by Liverpool City Council and 14-18 NOW- a First World War Centenary Cultural Programme.

Hundreds of thousands of people saw the spectacular last time it was here

Crowds of over 600,000 people followed the puppets around Liverpool last time they were here.
