UoL moves up in World University rankings

UoL has bettered its ranking from last year in the most recent Times Higher Education world university rankings.

“Uni of” has gone from 171^st in last year’s rankings to an entirely more impressive 169^th this year – this year’s results also show that Liverpool University is, internationally, the most highly ranked uni in the city.

Things are slightly different when it comes to the city’s other universities – John Moores only managed to scrape onto the very bottom end of the list (being placed between the dizzying heights of 351^st-400^th place) and our friends at Hope didn’t make the list whatsoever.

UoL’s ranking seems slightly less impressive, however, when compared with Manchester – our northern neighbour and fellow redbrick managed to reach 58^th place on the table.

However, all is not lost – when comparing the two, the Times reckon that graduates from Liverpool University earn around £150 more per year than Manchester graduates, and the all-important student satisfaction rate is higher at Liverpool.

This ranking for UoL is the latest in a good run of results from the Times, with the uni having bettered its international ranking every year since 2011.
