A boy’s perception of women’s fashion
The Tab fashion girls completely let their guard down and went against all instinct by allowing one boy to dress them up in what he thought a girl should be strutting about in.
It doesn’t really cross our mind that boys have that much of an opinion of what us girls wear, and no sassy, independent woman would let a man dictate what went into her wardrobe anyway. But surely boys have some opinions, preferences and thoughts on fashion faux pas? Do you? Any?
Meet James. We reluctantly put our complete trust in him, hoping he would dress us in sophisticated, classy and amazingly on trend outfits that accentuate our finest points and make us look like every man’s dream. Let’s see how far he got…
Night Out
According to James: “At the beginning of the night when you’re still sober, you want to see a girl with class but who is still willing to show some flesh in the club.”
To correspond with his statement he chose this white body-con dress with cut out patterns. Obviously James forgot to take into consideration the chugging of vodka and coke this dress will be experiencing.
He then said: “but by the end of the night when you’re drunk, all you really want to see is boobs.” Hence his extremely ‘lad-ish’ choice of a pink bralet and black skirt for the second outfit. LAD LAD LAD.
Date night
For the first outfit we advised James chose something a girl should wear to a classy date, maybe a nice meal down the docks? He snapped this up and said: “it’s classy enough for a dressy meal, but the sheer panels leave something to my imagination.”
All good thoughts, but we were thinking a nice meal at Jamie Oliver’s… not a one-way ticket to a Vegas wedding chapel.
The second outfit was to be worn at a simple Brookhouse date, so something a bit more nonchalant. This black flippy dress was chosen because: “it’s laid back; she looks like the sort of girl you could chill out with. Plus the animal print collar brings out the animal within.” Meeeeeeeow. He obviously gets how sassy and fierce we are.
Meet the parents
For this occasion James suggested he would like his girl to be covered up, but still look “stylish.” Apparently this outfit suggests, “I’m not shagging your son.” No shit.
For his second choice he said “every parent wants their son to be with a woman who looks successful.” Ah, how commendable and splendid of him. However, this sexy secretary look most definitely screams ‘your son is getting it in every way possible’
Many thanks to James for giving up an afternoon to shop with the fash-pack, but if we ever meet your parents we think we’ll pick our own outfits.
