Election result predictions
Voting closes for next year’s SRO at 5pm tomorrow and here at The Tab we’ve gone all Mystic Meg in an attempt to predict the results.
It’s been a relatively quiet week of voting on campus compared to the usual hustle and bustle of election time. You might not even have known it was election time if it wasn’t for the incessant emails and our top notch vid.
Last week, we released a poll asking you to tell us who you’ll be voting for or if you plan to vote at all. A whopping 285 of you voted in our exit poll.
It might seem a small, tiny, insignificant proportion of the 21,000 students at UoL, but The Tab have received unconfirmed reports voter turnout is exceptionally low this year.
One report even suggests less than 100 undergraduates have voted, even thought LGoS have officially announced they’ve recorded 1000 votes.
So how is the election looking so far?
Current Deputy President James Coe is firmly in the lead with 26% of the vote so far.
He’s closely followed by fellow Northerner Harry Anderson, who received 18% of the vote putting him in second place.
Third place is taken by Kate Holmes, whose inner lip tattoo has surely secured her 14% of the vote.
Not far behind is Alex Ferguson, who, despite having a somewhat unfortunate name for a student in Liverpool, has 10% of the vote in our poll.
That leaves Hannah Clare, Emma Sims, Aidan Mann, Oyindamola Johnson and mystery candidate Callum Doherty battling it out between them to break the top four.
Currently, Hannah Clare is only 5 votes off fourth place.
6% of people said they weren’t sure who to vote for yet, whilst another 6% said they didn’t plan on voting at all.
Don’t forget, voting closes tomorrow at 5pm!
