Accommod8 ups its game to scoop best student lettings agency award

Student landlords Accommod8 have won the award for ‘Best Student Lettings Agency’ in the Rate Your Landlord Awards 2014.

The letting agency – once branded “worse than most infectious diseases” – also picked up the award for the agent most likely to be recommended to a friend at the awards ceremony on Friday.

The survey, run by Liverpool Students’ Union, is completed by students who rate their landlord in various categories, including best student lettings agency, accommodation of the year and student satisfaction award.

Last year Accommod8 were criticised for numerous blunders, including leaving broken windows unrepaired for over a year

Last year, following various scandals about the standard of their accommodation, Accommo8 failed to be shortlisted for any of the categories, with rival letting agency Kexgill scooping a whopping five out of the 10 awards available.

Yet Acommod8 have spent the last year upping their game, and are delighted to be credited for their efforts.

Posting on their Facebook page, Accommod8 said:  “We are delighted to win the best letting agent award in the 2014 Rate Your Landlord survey.

“We have invested greatly in our business in the last year or so and the agency team have been working hard to improve the customer experience.”

Jack Robinson, a final year University of Liverpool student, has rented with Accommod8 before and had no problems.  He told The Tab: “I don’t really have anything bad to say about them and their staff are pretty friendly.

“They were fine with us but I know that other people have had problems.”

Victoria Hall won accommodation of the year, best hall of residence and the student satisfaction award in 2013.
