Another false alarm in the Sydney Jones forces students outside for half an hour

Lightning strikes twice in two days

After the all too recent “structured evacuation” of the Sydney Jones library, students were yet again forced into the frost mid-essay.

At around 8.30pm this evening, deadlines were put on hold as another fire alarm was set off, forcing everyone outside for nearly half an hour.

The alarm wasn’t planned and the University confirmed they didn’t know what caused it to go off.

Oh the weather outside is frightful

A member of staff also said they were yet to figure out what is causing the alarm to go off so often, and warned it could go off again at any time.

With deadlines creeping closer every day, this “drill” was another unwelcome interruption to the usual running of the SJ, with more being very likely.
