Liverpool uni ranked in the top 30 unis in the UK

And obvs we beat JMU again

Lush Liverpool is the 26th best university in the UK.

We were placed 157th in The Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2015/16, out of a whopping 800 institutions from 70 countries.

Legendary Liverpool came in ahead of big Russell Group heavyweights Newcastle and Queen’s University Belfast.

We’re actually alright

We were sandwiched between two German unis with the Dresden University of Technology  placed just after us, and University of Cologne one place ahead.

A total of 13 indicators were used in order to rank uni performance, ranging from institutional income, number of international students, to the number of PHDs awarded and staff-to-student ratio.

The UK has 78 uni’s in the World University Rankings top 800 this year, with a huge 34 institutions in the top 200, and is second only to the US for the number of world-class universities featured in the top 80.

Tom, a  third year engineering student told us “I feel like we could improve but this is definitely a good starting point. Plus, my mum’s pretty pleased I go to a uni this good.”

JMU came between 501 and 600th… They didn’t even get a number.
