We’re employable!

Manchester in top 50 world unis for employability

Manchester has been ranked as one of the most employable universities worldwide.

Don’t worry lass – there’s hope for us after all

The Global Employability University Ranking scores universities on how employable their graduates are based on the opinions of 2700 recruiters from 20 countries.

Our uni was placed 27th in the world for the 2013 chart.

That puts us well ahead of  places like King’s College London (37th), Warwick (106th) and Durham (129th).

But there are no surprises at the top of the table, with Oxford, Harvard and Cambridge occupying positions 1 to 3.

All those hours in Ali G will hopefully be worth it

Out of the 150 on the list, 14 were British unis, while nearly a third of them were American.

The table was set up by Emerging, which is an HR company that focuses on helping organisations recruit graduates by setting up partnerships with universities.

“Universities that specialise in business tend to do well, and the results suggest student internships are valued by employers”, said Sandrine Belloc, director of Emerging.
