Man Met are hosting a ‘swinging’ workshop today

The university is offering it as an extracurricular activity to improve CVs


Man Met are hosting a “swinging” workshop today as part of a new string of sex-themed events under the title “Polyamory, Consensual Non-Monogamy and Relationship Anarchy”.

The event is part of a wider movement to encourage the uni’s undergrads to improve their CVs by attending a variety of extracurricular activities.

Attendance will earn students “points” in the MMU Futures Programme, a new awards scheme that has been developed at the university.

The workshop is about polyamory, the growing trend of having consensual sexual relationships with multiple partners, and it will cover “academic, cultural and political perspectives”.

The event boasts esteemed speakers such as writer and activist, Dr Meg John Barker and Dr Robin Bauer, professor of Social Work at The Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University, Stuttgart.

Tickets are £5 and allow participants to take part in “a discussion around relationship diversity, exclusion, visibility, relationship ethics and the practical challenges of living in non-monogamous or polyamorous relationships and families.”
