The best study spots in Manchester: part two
No more library or Ali G plssss
Okay, so I don't know if anyone else has noticed this, but since uni started there seems to be absolutely millions of students, everywhere. Trying to find somewhere, anywhere in the library or Ali G is a task, let alone somewhere with an actual seat and anywhere near a plug socket.
John Ryland’s Library
As well as a great place to visit exhibitions and tours, the John Ryland’s library even offers a Historic reading room- perfect for, well, reading.
Chapter One Books
The Northen quarter houses this quirky bookstore/ coffee shop, with conveniently late closing hours, open until 12am weekdays.
Didsbury Library
In the centre of Didsbury village is this gem- for anyone who needs to study in silence.
Barnes Wallis Student Hub
On Sackville Street this study hub is one of the lesser known of the university, which makes it a great find. It's also open 24 hours during exam season.
Proper Tea, Tea Shop
Not necessary everyones cup of tea, (haha) but it’s a great place for those odd group study sessions.
Font, Fallowfield
Convenience is key. And £2 cocktails for when it all gets a bit too much.
Second Cup Coffee
In Manchester Arndale, this is a must for coffee lovers, and you're only ever a few steps away from Topshop and that sweet sweet student discount.
Fig + Sparrow
Cosy and peaceful Northern quarter cafe, away from the hustle and bustle of the streets.
Oak House/ Source Café, Fallowfield
Chances are, you still live around fallowfield, probably relatively close to Owens Park. Source café and the computer cluster are great for working, with minimal travel.
Grindsmith
In Deansgate this coffee house is great to bring your laptop and do some work and it even has soundproof rooms.
