Meet the models appearing in the Newcastle RAG fashion show

It’s happening on Thursday

Newcastle’s charity fashion show will return on Thursday in The Venue to raise money for Mind, a mental health charity.

Fashion show organisers say the event will be filled with champagne, live music and models wearing the latest styles from Topshop, Ann Summers and Dr Martens. Tickets can be bought online for £10.

Sara Macauley, fashion show coordinator, told The Tab: “We’re raising money for a cause which is really close to our hearts, we would love to have the support of our students and it’s going to be a great night!”

Let’s meet the models.

Laura Navarro, Modern Languages, Translation and Interpreting

“I got involved because this combines fashion with charity, two of my passions.”

Jennifer Betts, Architecture

“Life’s too short to not strut around in other people’s clothes.”

Tom Cunnell, Marine Technology and Offshore Engineering

“I’m not an ambiturner.”

Safeer Shersad, Architecture and Urban Planning

“I decided to audition for a laugh, didn’t think I’d get picked! Auditions have been fun though, and I get to hang out with other people that are really, really, really, ridiculously good looking.”

Oli King, Dentistry

“Since the age of 8, I have loved and breathed fashion, and when this fashion show rolled around, I knew it was my calling. Also I’ve got a lot of time for charity xoxo.”

Alice Mason, Fine Art

“I got involved because I think Mind is a great charity doing great work and it’s a fun way to raise money for them. Also I’ve met loads of great people through doing this.”

Emily Archer Goode

“I got involved in the show as I thought it would be a really good experience to meet new people and contribute to RAG.”

Cameron Cutts, Civil Engineering

“Heard about it from my girlfriend as her flat mate is the new activities officer and it sounded fun and worth doing while at uni. A lot of the models did it last year but since I’m a fresher I didn’t really know what was going on but they were all really nice.”

Becky Holdsworth

“I got involved with the show because I wanted to support a great charity and have the opportunity to meet some lovely people too.”

Katherine Chambers

“It’s a fun way to raise money for charity and make new friends.”

Adio Kokayi

“Back yourself.”

Francesca Ridley, Zoology

“I got involved because I thought it would be a lot of fun, I’ve done a little modelling in the past and really enjoy it, also it’s for a great cause so I was really excited to help out.”
