Village Student In Burglary Drama

Police have urged students to “tighten security” after a burglary took place at UEA.

A student living in the Village was burgled after leaving their window open.

The intruder climbed through an open window of Hawthorne House between 7pm and 8pm on Friday, November 8.

They stole a Samsung Galaxy Ace, Toshiba laptop and iPod. Police have since issued a warning reminding students to be wary and lock their doors and windows before leaving accommodation.

The intruder stole several valuable items, and is thought to have climbed in through an open window.

They have also advised that students always be aware of who is entering and leaving their residence, and not to leave their valuables visible and keep them in a drawer or cupboard away from windows. Any witnesses should contact Det Con Phil Paddon at Norwich CID on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
