Oosh! UEA is 16th best university in the country

That’s better than Newcastle, Leeds and KCL

The Complete University Guide has ranked UEA as the 16th best uni in the country.

That’s a minor drop from 15th place last year. But it doesn’t matter because UEA has climbed an impressive 20 places since 2009.

It remains in the top ten for American Studies, Anatomy & Physiology, History of Art, Architecture & Design, Nursing and Pharmacology & Pharmacy.

With so many societies it’s no surprise we’re brilliant at Sports Science

The university is also a new contender at the top of the ladder for Drama, Sports Science and Physiotherapy.

UEA soared from 11th to third place for Physiotherapy, just below Cardiff and Birmingham.

For Sports Science, we jumped four places, securing ourselves the number seven spot.

Local rivals Essex crashed from 16th to 36th for Sports Science, which may explain why they failed so shockingly at this year’s Derby Day.

They also ranked an embarrassing 34th overall.

Unlucky Essex

The ranking is based on the National Student Survey and the Higher Education Statistic Agency data. It also considers student-staff ratio, graduate prospects, sporting facilities and the amount of international students enrolled.

Big climbers this year included Sussex, De Montfort, Leeds Trinity, Harper Adams and Roehampton.

Meanwhile, Glyndwr (who tops the chart for the most difficult to pronounce uni) and London Met have fallen behind in 123rd and 126th place.

Cambridge sits comfortably in first position, with Oxford following closely in second. How predictable.
