Last minute fancy dress ideas from the UEA shop
It’s a treasure chest of ideas waiting to be discovered
Been too lazy to get a costume this year?
We get it, you’ve been busy with essays and procrastinating. So busy, in fact, that you’ve forgotten to get your Halloween costume ready for tonight.
Or maybe you’re just pretty uninspired by Halloween in general.
Well, don’t worry. The UEASU campus shop is awe-inspiring when it comes to costume ideas. For under a tenner you can bag yourself a great costume that’ll be sure to scream “scary”.
Earmuffs
A versatile and unique costume that functions to drown out the LCR music (looking at you Damn Good) and acts as a yeti- go to.
Vampire
Functioning as a tasty midnight snack for when the munchies begin to grumble, Dairylea triangles can also act as a shittier version of vampire fangs.
Alternately, if you’ve forgotten to buy white face paint, these creamy bad boys will create a layer of white so smooth you’ll think it’s a face mask.
A tin foil robot
Whether you’re baking your chicken or getting ready for the LCR, tin foil is a must have in your last-minute costume preparations.
You can be pretty much anything – a robot, a tin man, heck, even a darlek should you wish. Just make sure you buy enough rolls to cover you twice over as with LCR dance moves there’s bound to be some tearing.
The Illuminati
With an array of cheese in the campus shop, you can go all conspiracy theory with this next costume idea.
A sure winner to get the girls, dressing as the illuminati, so basically sticking a load of these over yourself, will really show everyone the edgy person you are inside.
Fake blood
What’s a Halloween costume without fake blood?
You’ve gotta get yourself oozing in red, and whether it’s ketchup or jelly that’s your jam, the UEA shop has got it covered. These fun size tubs also cater for jelly shots if necking your vodka is just too much.
Mummy
No, not what you’ll be crying in at the end of the night on the LCR dancefloor, but the fail-safe costume for those truly under prepared for tomorrow night.
Inspiration struck in the last aisle and the perfect ensemble was found – as the French say, the pièce de résistance.
It’s so overdone that nobody will even think of doing it – they’ll be out in their “I’m a mouse – duh” and Kim Kardashian outfits.
UEA, stick to what tradition says is best. And who knows, you might even end up featuring in a Sainsbury’s Centre exhibit.
Don’t panic. The UEASU has got you covered.
