There’s a new café in Norwich that only serves champagne and cupcakes

It’s the perfect place to take your mum when she comes up to visit

A new café is opening in Norwich city centre tomorrow called ‘Cupcakes and Bubbles’. And they’re selling, you guessed it, cake and champers.

The tearoom is located in Timber Hill, which is just round the corner from the Bell Hotel pub and 25 bus stop. With its quaint crockery and Grade II listed building (just like the Ziggurats), it’s the perfect place to take your mum to get her slightly tipsy when she comes up to see how you’re settling in. Before, you know, you take her back to campus to unveil your never-been-tidied room and your festering communal kitchen that she’d probably shriek at if she was sober.

As well as the champagne, prosecco and cupcakes that their name suggests, the café will also serve scones, sandwiches, brownies, and, for those who aren’t feeling particularly boozy, a nice cup of tea. Co-founders Tracey Watt and Pepe Ong wanted to keep their menu local, with cakes, tea and vintage sparkling wine all coming from  independent Norfolk suppliers.

As well as a lengthy list of cupcake flavours, Cupcakes and Bubbles will also offer gluten free and diet cake options to their customers and an afternoon tea offer including the classic scones and finger sandwiches combo.

The café opens its doors for the first time tomorrow, and will then open 9:30am-7:30pm Tuesday to Saturday, and 10am-4pm on Sundays.
