Bristol harbour freezes over for the first time in years and it looks stunning

Temperatures are not expected to rise much above freezing until Sunday

Bristol’s Floating Harbour has frozen over for the first time in many years with a thick layer of ice.

The sun may be shining but don’t be fooled, the temperature in Bristol was as low as -9.5C on Wednesday night.

Although we haven’t got the snow that many other places in the UK are boasting right now, Bristol does have a glittering ice rink but you should definitely not test it out.

Temperatures are not expected to rise much above freezing until Sunday so if there’s ever a time to convince your housemates to turn the heating on, that would be now.

First term is over so take your housemates on a festive walk down and check it out. Make sure to throw bits of ice around to achieve a satisfying crack.
