Exeter SIFE cleans up at the National Awards!
On the 19th April, Exeter’s SIFE team (Students In Free Enterprise) cleaned up at their very first time at the National SIFE awards.
Considering Exeter’s team only started at the beginning of the academic year, their list of awards is truly impressive.
EXETER SIFE was awarded:
Winners of SIFE UK Rookie Champions 2012
Winners of Best University Advisers (Laura Bonner, Antonia Coppen and Alan Booth)
Runners Up for Wilkinson's Entrepreneurship and Rejuvenating the High Street topic competition (awarded to the Reach Out Reach In consultancy project)
Third best annual report
On top of all that, Jess Drew (one of the co-Team Leaders of Exeter SIFE) was mentioned for Outstanding Achievement.
Sam Suthurst, a Cornwall campus team leader and a second year history student remarked that:
"It’s an absolutely incredible experience which not only showcases everything we have achieved this year but also allows us to take in the inspiring work being done nation-wide by students belonging to this organisation. I have left the SIFE Nationals 2012 feeling inspired, empowered and immensely proud of SIFE-Exeter."
Jess drew, the co-Team Leader of Exeter campus who was mentioned for Outstanding Achievement and is a third year English student said:
"For me it was a huge achievement just to be the only new team in the main category of the competition, but then to get recognition for all the hard work every single one of our members and advisers has put in through these awards is just amazing. I feel very confident in the future of SIFE Exeter and next year looks to be very exciting!”
Exeter SIFE’s future plans include continuing and expanding currently running projects under the guidance of the newly elected team leaders, as well as launching Links and InTouch in May and September. Also, a joint International project is planned in India with Engineers without Borders. The main goal is to help as many people as possible.
