The tests will be available from 30th November to 11th December

University of Glasgow has released guidelines on how to access the free test that is available to all students from the University of Glasgow and the Glasgow School of art who do not have symptoms and plan to travel over the holiday period.

The testing in voluntary, but is is recommended by the Scottish government to undertake one before returning home in case isolation is necessary.

The testing will be available from 30th November to 11th December in Hunter Halls and Kelvin Gallery. You can book a test through the University of Glasgow website.

Student will be able to book a test if they are planning on returning home for the holidays, have not tested positive in the last 90 days, do not currently have any Covid-19 symptoms and haven’t been identified as being in close contact with someone who has tested positive.

Depending on availability, students will receive a location and be offered a choice of times to select. Initially, testing is only open for three days during the first half of test week, with more slots that will be available soon.

Students will be asked to take two tests, three days apart, and if both of these tests have a negative result then you will be allowed to travel. But if either test comes back positive then students will be required to start isolating and book a PCR test at a NHS walk in centre.

All students were sent emails with further information on this.
